Islamic ablution and prayer times were forced into Christian templates like baptism.
Evidence
There was some invention of ‘facts’, as in the details of the ablution, and the same subject exemplifies forced misinterpretation, in this case, as pseudobaptism. Christian comparisons, such as the equation of the hours of the salat with those of the Christian Office, overshadowed every aspect, and there was no reasoned contrast between Christian and Muslim ritual over a large field. — Norman Daniel, Islam and the West, 1205
