Intolerance of ambiguity and rigidity were not part of the F Scale definition
Evidence
Two elements of the Berkeley model that researchers often cite these days are Intolerance of Ambiguity and Rigidity. However, while both were “observed” in the pivotal Berkeley study of ethnocentric people (i.e., the study thoroughly criticized by Hyman and Sheatsley, 1954), neither one is an element or cluster in the definition of the authoritarian personality that underlay the F Scale. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 3969
