Holocaust belief was measured on an 8-72 scale with 40 as neutral.
Evidence
The first session took place on October 5, 1992, when I administered a booklet of surveys to a large introductory psychology class under the secretnumber conditions. The students signed nothing but instead put a number of their choosing at the top of the bubble sheet, supposedly so I could give them individual feedback later in the year. The second task in the eight-task booklet, right after the RWA Scale, asked for reactions to the statements shown in Exhibit 10.1. These measured how much the student believed the Holocaust had occurred. Some of the eight items dealt with general issues. Others were worded to catch any changes caused by specific points raised in the propaganda I intended to use later. Scores on the scale could go from 8 to 72, with 40 being the neutral point. A high score indicates belief that the Holocaust had happened. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 3081
