Holism and dualism are fluid orientations people oscillate between, not fixed opposites

Evidence

A holistic discourse contrasts with the dominant dualistic discourse of management and organization. From a dualistic point of view, corporate principles and methods are applied without taking into account religious philosophical orientations. Rather than create another dichotomy, a new dynamic and fluid approach can be pursued which regards orientations not as polar opposites but as complementary. A dichotomous classification of holism versus dualism is too rigid because people oscillate between them in their work as well as outside of it. — Frans Dokman, Beyond Bantu Philosophy_…, 850
