German anti-Muslim hate crimes rose 87 percent in just two years

Evidence

According to Amnesty International, anti-Muslim hate crimes in Germany drastically increased in recent years because of the rise of Islamophobia. An Amnesty report found that between 2013 and 2015, there was a nearly 87 percent increase in violent racist crimes primarily targeting German Muslims. The researchers also noted a 1600 percent increase in bias-motivated crimes which specifically targeted shelters for refugees and asylum-seekers (who happened to be predominantly Muslim). — Arsalan Iftikhar, Fear of a Muslim Planet_ Global…, 369
