Economic limits drove a Pakistani banking manager to emigrate to New Zealand in 2010.
Evidence
Islam, for Naeem, was essentially a faith of action. It drew his deep devotion because of its emphasis on defending the oppressed, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, which took root deep within him as a child growing up in Abbotabad, Pakistan. In Pakistan, he witnessed oppression at home and in nearby Kashmir. That landscape of struggle fueled his ambition, and he ultimately climbed the ranks at Citibank and became a senior manager at its Lahore office. β¦ Individual ambition, however, was replaced by a more commanding motivation after Naeem and his wife had their first child, Talha. The money he earned in Pakistan was not enough, so in 2010, Naeem and his family left for Christchurch, New Zealand. In his new home, Naeem pursued a PhD and worked as a teacher. β Khaled A.
