Discretionary stops pulled over blacks more though whites more often had drugs
Evidence
If a police officer could pull any driver over as a pretext to search the car, and if they assumed black drivers were more likely to have drugs in their cars, then predictably, more black drivers would be subject to traffic stops. Subsequent research showed that black motorists are more likely to be pulled over than white motorists even though white drivers were more likely to have drugs than black drivers. — Dorothy A.
