Democracy plus high capacity generated the social-movement repertoire bundling old performances.
Evidence
As chapter 8 shows in much greater detail, the emergence of partially democratic, high-capacity regimes promoted the formation of a distinctive social-movement repertoire. That repertoire included a package of claim-making performances all of which had precedents, but none of which had ever previously been widely available in one anotherβs company: formation of special-purpose associations and named public coalitions; petition drives; public meetings, rallies, demonstrations, strikes, public statements; and lobbying. β Charles Tilly, Regimes and Repertoires, 1071
