Combining DRNL paths produces a double impulse that loses temporal fine structure
Evidence
Unfortunately, the response to a single impulse obtained by adding the outputs of the two processing paths is a double impulse. As a consequence, the output does not retain the temporal fine structure of the input, which may be problematic in some cases. β Ville Pulkki, Matti Karjalainen, Communication Acoustics- Anβ¦, 1616
