Colorblind ideology reframes race consciousness itself as the racism to be ended.

Evidence

Those advocating acolorblind view of race assert that the goals of the civil rights movement have been substantially achieved, that overt forms of racial discrimination are athing of the past, and that the United States is in the midst of a successful transition toa “post-racial” society. From a colorblind standpoint, any hints of race consciousness are tainted by racism. Thus it is suggested that the most effective antiracist gesture, policy, or practice is simply to ignore race (Skrentny 1996; Connerly 2007). — Michael Omi, Howard Winant, Racial Formation in the United States, 241
