College women’s sexual partners typically fall outside the college sample

Evidence

If you include them, then the median number of acts of intercourse for all the males in the sample equaled 2, and for all the females, 1—quite a different picture from 30 and 50. Since the women are having intercourse with men, where are these men? One explanation would be that a few guys are having a tremendous amount of sex. But that is not so. Instead, the partners are not in this sample. They are probably older than my female students and not likely to be taking introductory psychology. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 4216
