Bandwidth extension and error concealment are speech-enhancement techniques for missing or narrow data.
Evidence
Bandwidth extension refers to techniques used to extend the bandwidth of transmitted narrowband speech to deliver better speech quality to the user. Error concealment refers to applications where the speech decoder is forced to ‘fill in’ missing data from the received speech signal. For example, when some frames of speech are lost in communication, the content of missing frames has to be guessed through some intelligent solutions to maximize speech quality. — Ville Pulkki, Matti Karjalainen, Communication Acoustics- An…, 2212
