Attentional disorders and constant device use are epidemic among American youth.
Evidence
One in nine American kids has been clinically diagnosed with an attentional disorder. Lots of the doctors think that is an undercount. Perhaps more tellingly, about a quarter of adults believe they, too, have such a condition. Half of American teens report that they are on networked devices “almost constantly.” Undisputed facts like these have led Australia to take the bold step of completely banning social media use for those under the age of sixteen. — The Friends of Attention, Attensity!, 113
