Arguments deployed against Islam in medieval polemics could rebound against Christianity equally.

Evidence

There were many cases in which Christians used arguments that could equally well be turned against them. One such was Ricoldo’s violent criticism of the Qur’an (again taken from the Contrarietas) for reasons which in a general sense could be used against the Bible.
It is as difficult to believe that Christians used such rebounding arguments as that they used those of the ‘God’s prayer’ type which were wholly erroneous. Could either type have been used in the schools of Baghdad with good effect, or even intelligibly put forward? — Norman Daniel, Islam and the West, 1442
