A lazy psychoanalytic racism theory starts from established clinical constructs
Evidence
If you want to go about constructing a psychoanalytic theory of racism the lazy way, you take a number of short steps. First you concentrate on what are widely assumed to be the clinical strengths - the analysis of transference and resistance; the operation of the major defense mechanisms (projection, introjection, splitting, denial, foreclosure); the theory of narcissism, and borderline personality; the psychodynamics of envy, guilt, and anxiety. These are the bedrocks of clinical judgment and treatment concerning individual psychopathology. β David Theo Goldberg, John Solomos, A Companion to Racial and Ethnic Studies, 1299
