Vietnam War
The Vietnam War (1955-1975) was a major armed conflict in Southeast Asia in which the United States intervened militarily in support of South Vietnam against the communist North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces. It was unprecedented in American history in its scope and outcomes, and had profound cultural consequences, including the disruption of traditional narratives in war literature and fiction.
