Somaliland Protectorate

The Somaliland Protectorate was a British colonial territory in the Horn of Africa, administered from 1884 until its incorporation into the independent state of Somalia in 1960. Britain valued it primarily as a source of meat supplies for its nearby colony of Aden and periodically weighed abandoning it over cost concerns before granting it independence.
