Sirens
From Greek mythology, the Sirens are creatures whose enchanting song lures sailors to their doom. In critical/philosophical discourse (e.g., Adorno’s readings of the Odyssey), the Sirens’ episode serves as an allegorical figure for art, its seductive allure, its promise of happiness, and how art becomes separated from labor under domination.
