Morisco Spanish

A Spanish dialect variety spoken by the Moriscos (Muslims forcibly converted to Christianity in Spain and later expelled), characterized by preserving Arabic-derived vocabulary and meanings, sometimes camouflaging Arabic meaning within Romance vocabulary for secrecy. Unlike Judeo-Spanish which survived in diaspora, Morisco Spanish died out quickly after the expulsion overseas.
