Meister Eckhart
Meister Eckhart (c. 1260–c. 1328) was a German Dominican theologian, philosopher, and mystic whose apophatic writings on the soul’s union with God influenced later mystics such as John Ruysbroeck and, centuries later, concepts like Heidegger’s gelassenheit.
