Gothic Muslim
A figure in Gothic literature that depicts Muslims/Muslim characters as monstrous, exoticized villains, often imagined as hypersexual, perverse, and endowed with supernatural or inherited “black magic.” These figures function as Orientalist constructs that displace Western anxieties onto an imagined Muslim other, crossing borders into Christian Europe and transferring feminine evil onto victims.
