Golden Age
A recurring cultural and literary myth of an idealized past era of harmony, prosperity, and homogeneous purity that never actually existed, often invoked nostalgically and used to justify present-day grievances against perceived outsiders or changes. Originating in classical Greco-Roman literature (associated with Paradise imagery), the Golden Age functions as a rhetorical frame for both utopian longing and reactionary scapegoating.
