Chicago School
An influential school of thought in the social sciences. In communication and sociology, the Chicago School pioneered the study of communication as culture-making and treated urban neighborhoods as ecosystems with life cycles. In economics, the term also refers to the free-market school founded by figures such as Simons and Hayek. Both refer to distinct intellectual traditions associated with the University of Chicago.
