Caste Hindus
Caste Hindus are members of the Hindu social groups that participate in and uphold the caste system, as distinguished from Untouchables/Dalits who were historically excluded from and oppressed within that hierarchy. In the context of Indian politics and social reform, the term refers to the higher-caste Hindu population that held dominant social and political power and sought to exclude or marginalize Untouchables.
