Caste Hindu
A Hindu belonging to one of the organized castes within the traditional caste system, as distinct from Untouchables or outcastes who fall outside the caste hierarchy. In the context of Indian reform movements, Caste Hindus are the non-Untouchable reform constituency whose interests and perspectives shaped their approach to caste reform, often favoring assimilation over full equality for Untouchables.
