British Marxist
A Marxist intellectual or political current based in Britain and shaped by the British context. In historiography it often refers to the tradition of British Marxist historians (such as E.P. Thompson and Christopher Hill) whose work on social history directly influenced fields like cultural studies, and whose organizational presence before the 1917 Russian Revolution was small and shrinking.
