British Mandate

The British Mandate refers to the period and system of British governance over Palestine (and other former Ottoman territories) under the League of Nations mandate system following World War I, lasting from 1920 to 1948. Under this administration, Britain implemented policies of land privatization and settlement that had significant demographic and economic consequences for the region’s Palestinian population.
