Beat Generation
A literary and cultural movement of the 1950s-60s associated with writers and artists who rejected conventional social and literary norms, including figures like Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, and William S. Burroughs. The term was coined (originally as an insult) and later popularized, and is often discussed alongside other artistic movements such as the French avant-garde.
