Assimilated German Jews
A historical/social category referring to Jews in Germany who had largely integrated into mainstream German society, adopting German cultural norms, language, and civic identity, while facing continued displacement from both German and traditional Jewish worlds. The concept captures their precarious position of having abandoned much of traditional Jewish practice yet still being excluded from full German belonging, especially in the era of growing antisemitism.
