Arab Spring

A wave of pro-democracy protests, uprisings, and civil wars that swept across the Arab world beginning in late 2010, particularly in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria, and Yemen. The term is used in claims to reference a historical event with political and social consequences, including effects on diaspora communities and the spread of free information.
