Zionist Revisionists framed East-West difference as an evolutionary matter-form split
Evidence
In Western culture, the individual, the subject, stands outside the objective world of matter. The subject acts purposefully to give matter its form, its meaning. Eastern culture, on the other hand, is entirely material. There is no fundamental difference between subject and object, and everything is determined by the raw qualities of the objective reality. There is no transcendental design that shapes and gives meaning to the objective world. According to Assar, however, while there are important differences between the Eastern and Western cultural models, they are simply the opposite ends of a single evolutionary process: the development of Western rationalism, which is an epistemological process of separation in which the subject detaches himself from the objective, material world. — Ivan Davidson Kalmar, Derek Penslar, Orientalism and the Jews, 538

- DEFINE: Assar’s matter-versus-form dichotomy is a specific conceptual framework for Eastern-Western cultural difference worth remembering.
