Wind instrument resonances resist aligning into a harmonic series because of impedance-mismatch reflections.
Evidence
Wind instruments do not come by a musical alignment of their resonances as easily as stringed instruments do. The reflections (due to impedance mismatches) that toneholes, valves, diameter changes, and bends introduce make it far from obvious that the instrument resonances will line up nicely in a harmonic series. — Eric J.
