White power movements are products of the very globalization they oppose

Evidence

During the same period racist skinheadism was exported to Germany, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Holland, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Brazil, Norway, and the United States (Harnm, 1993; Pilkington, 1996; Fangen, 1999). For Fangen the Norwegian white power underground is a countertrend to the fragmentation and insecurity associated with the postmodern condition. The irony here is that these movements are also the product of fragmentation, hybridity, and forms of globalization. As I have tried to argue, the politics of this culture needs to be evaluated carefully in terms of time and place. — David Theo Goldberg, John Solomos, A Companion to Racial and Ethnic Studies, 2990
