Whether Western ontology is universal or parochial conditions all African philosophy

Evidence

At this point two more issues have to be considered: (1) Can certain instruments of thought characteristic of the African mind be found in the African subjectivity?, and (2) Are the cognitive and conceptual structures of the West (Philosophy – Ontology) typically Western, or do they belong to every human mind? If the answer to this second question is yes, then we should add that these conceptual structures are Western only for historical reasons. If the answer is no, then they are typically Western and can only be transmitted to other cultures. — Frans Dokman, Beyond Bantu Philosophy_…, 285
