Western philosophers adopt non-Western texts without changing their own foundational assumptions.

Evidence

In world philosophy there is still the tendency for overly Western-centrism in philosophizing. Philosophers eagerly take up contextual philosophies from Africa, Asia and Latin America, but they do not change their Western, introspective outlook of seeing Western logical positivism as the main foundation of philosophy. African and intercultural philosophers from all over the world can play a role in correcting this omission. Some of them have lived in more than one culture, have learnt another language, and have studied contextual philosophies. These philosophers can act as intraand interdisciplinary bridge builders between academia worldwide. — Frans Dokman, Beyond Bantu Philosophy_…, 1030
