Of those opposed to reparations, the highest percentage remain among white Americans. That is ironic given that it is white Americans whose ancestors benefited the most from post-chattel slavery (not to mention chattel slavery), who got GI Bill benefits and FHA-insured mortgages, who lived in sundown towns and amassed great wealth doing so, who were not lynched and did not lose their property, and who did not have their property taken away through eminent domain. — Dorothy A.
