The White Racial Frame makes anti-non-White discrimination seem consistent with American values
Evidence
According to Feagin, US law, politics, and social norms are structured through a White racial frame of reference to advantage Whites and disadvantage non-Whites. As a result, only Whites are eligible to enjoy meaningful equality, justice, and liberty; meanwhile, the denial of rights to non-Whites is not perceived as contradictory to American values. The White Racial Frame explains why one terrorist attack by a Muslim triggers surveillance, investigation, and prosecution of Muslim communities, while White right-wing extremism does not incriminate White Christian communities en masse. As applied to Jews, Catholics, and Mormons, their entrance into social Whiteness did not upset the White Racial Frame. Rather, these immigrants accommodated it. — Sahar F.
