The term environmental law predates its formal 1969 coining
Evidence
Although the Airlie House Conference well marks the formal coining of the term “environmental law,” the term was clearly in some contemporary usage before that date. Some infrequent use can be discovered in early discussions in law schools considering new course offerings and law review and other publications in the 1960s. — Richard J.
