The native informer is a pathology created by coloniality
Evidence
Natives informing on their brothers and sisters back in the field as a way of ingratiating themselves with their white masters have been a major character type since at least the time of Harriet Beecher Stowe, a pathology created by the condition of coloniality. In George W. Bush’s America the practice was perfected to ever more lucrative levels, with a publishing ear perfectly pitched to what would sell in a society deeply traumatized by seeing two of its tallest landmarks cut down in broad daylight. — Hamid Dabashi, Brown Skin, White Masks, 99
