The Jew-capital link survived because later movements absorbed and refashioned it

Evidence

By definition, the anti-modernist version of antisemitism could retain its appearance of rationality, and its popular appeal, as long as the hope to arrest the advance of the new order and to replace it with a petty-bourgeois utopia masquerading as the lost paradise, seemed feasible and realistic. Indeed, that form of antisemitism all but petered out towards the middle of the nineteenth century when the last massive attempt to change the tracks of history failed, and victory of the new order had to be, however grudgingly, accepted as definite and irreversible. The link between money power and the Jewish temperament or spirit, established in the early, anti-modern and petty-bourgeois, form of anti-capitalist opposition, was destined to be absorbed and inventively refashioned by its later forms. Sometimes concealed, occasionally bursting into prominence, it was never far removed from the mainstream of anti-capitalist resistance. It played a prominent role in the history of European socialism. — Zygmunt Bauman, Modernity and the Holocaust, 148
