The fall of Constantinople inspired new manuscripts recycling older anti-Islamic texts
Evidence
In a later period the parts of Ricoldo’s Itinerarium which relate to Islam in general were extracted to form a tractate of purely theological interest, and this was used (together with his Disputatio, incomplete, and with part of the Cluniac corpus) in a manuscript collection inspired by the fall of Constantinople. — Norman Daniel, Islam and the West, 2389
