The 2020 BLM uprisings refute claims that Covid produced mass political obedience
Evidence
The event appears to have been canceled, but the original plan points to something that has often struck me about Wolf’s ceaseless claims that Covid measures have ushered in a new era of political obedience she and her fellow travelers alone have had the courage to resist. Their story completely ignores the fact that in that summer of 2020, despite mask mandates and social distancing rules, millions of people took to the streets, day after day, night after night, to rise up against police murders of Black people, and to demand a radical reallocation of resources away from mass incarceration and militarized policing and toward educational, housing, and health infrastructure and services that would begin to close the wealth and investment gaps that treat Black communities as de facto second class, even if legalized segregation has ended. — Naomi Klein, Doppelganger, 826

- XREF: Connects to Klein’s diagonalism thesis across the book: the conflation of genuine resistance (BLM) with staged anti-vax defiance, and how the far right claims a resistance mantle that ignores real dissent.
- SEED: Angle: how the ‘sheeple’ narrative in wellness/anti-vax circles silently erases the largest protests in US history — a case study in fascist historical erasure.
