The 1570 rebel negotiation demanded amnesty, repatriation, and reconstruction.
Evidence
The Muslims opened with reproaches directed against the Spaniards on various subjects ranging from promises broken to the expulsions from Granada already carried out, but when real negotiations began, it emerged that what el Habaqui had in mind was a settlement that included (1) guarantees to the rebels that they would not be pursued or legally prosecuted, (2) the return to their homes of those expelled, and (3) general reconstruction with the object of returning to the situation as it had existed before the outbreak of hostilities. In addition, freedom to migrate to North Africa was to be accorded to those who wished to go. — L. P. Harvey, Muslims in Spain, 1500 to 1614, 1071
