Tarrant’s terror was never legally linked to settler-colonial genocide
Evidence
Just another regular white man committing the same acts of terror, modern massacres harkening back to memories of old, of the nation’s founders. Founders that, like Tarrant, hailed from the same “Scottish, Irish and English stock” that landed in new territories and systematically eradicated their natives. He was they and they were he, but the law and its collaborators in the media did not see it, and him, that way. … Although inspired by that very white supremacy, Tarrant was never associated with that history. Never connected or conflated with those pioneers of displacement and genocide that landed on two islands already inhabited by nonwhite native populations that were early erased from the earth they cultivated. — Khaled A.
