Streaming loudness normalization is automating much of mastering engineering.
Evidence
However, things change, and now streaming is the prevailing delivery medium for music and movies and it requires attention to average loudness levels of program, as well as other factors. Mastering in some applications has apparently become so routine that much of it is relegated to automated processors. Adding to the change is the vision by some that AI can do even more. This is a major development that will affect mastering engineering as a profession (Elliot and Chon, 2022). One hopes that humans continue to contribute to the art. β Toole, Floyd E, Sound reproduction- the acoustics andβ¦, 342
