Spain’s fragmented legislative system multiplied documents for the Morisco expulsion

Evidence

Since Spain in the seventeenth century was very far from being a unitary state with one coordinated system of legislation, and since the operation of expelling of the Moriscos extended over the years 1609 to 1614, it is not surprising that a considerable variety and number of documents and other texts were produced in connection with the Expulsion. — L.
