Somali presidents Osman and Hussen were exceptionally frugal and honest leaders
Evidence
Osman was so strict with taxpayer public money that he saved enough from the presidency’s annual budget to build a presidential retreat in Afgoi while others were pocketing public money. Hussen’s respect for the law and his anticorruption effort has no parallel in our history. His hands are absolutely untainted and the two are peerless as Somali leaders. — Abdi Ismail Samatar, Africa’s First Democrats, 953
