Social capital does not automatically translate into durable political organizations.

Evidence

Even if social capital helps to explain the vote for Trump, there is no reason necessarily to expect that it will give rise to durable mass organizations capable of involving people in politics in a way that allows them to influence policy. Amnesty International, after all, is not the Communist Party any more than a golf club is the NSDAP. NGOs run by professional staff are not fortresses of civil society but heads without bodies, recruiting donors rather than members and lacking both the ambition and prospect of uniting a cohesive base. — Anton Jäger, Hyperpolitics, 155
