Self-placement alone cannot explain conservative or liberal label evaluations
Evidence
As the estimates show, although self-placement did have an impact on evaluations, the model is clearly misspecified in this form; both the symbolic variables and the issue scales had a substantial direct impact on the evaluations even with self-placement included in the regression. Thus, based on this test, model 2 is not as strongly supported as the original model. โ John T. Jost and Jim Sidanius, Political Psychology, 2044
