Self-managed movements measurably deliver land, organic crops, and technology.

Evidence

Victories are concrete: more than 450,000 families have gained legal access to land. MST is at the cutting edge of agroecology, producing its own bio-fertilizers that reduce dependence on industrial chemicals. For ten years now, MST has been the biggest producer of organic rice in Latin America. MST also partners with public universities to develop technology for its solidarity economy. For example, farmers have worked closely with Professor Celso Alexandre Souza de Alvear from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro to create several software programs that help MST farming collectives plan production and distribute their produce. — Clara E.
